PT Children’s Group Assistant – Provo

Looking for employment working with young children in the social services field? Are you interested in learning more about strengthening high-risk families and in helping young children begin to heal from abuse, neglect, and trauma? House of Hope utilizes the trauma informed psycho-educational approach with small groups of young children who are residing with their mothers in residential treatment. Group assistants help provide therapeutic groups for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children in our children’s day treatment program.

We are looking for someone with:
-Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human development or similar field; willingness to work toward licensure as a Social Service Worker over 2-3 year period (see dopl.utah.gov)
-Experience working with young children (6 months to eight years old)
-Good basic computer and writing skills
-An understanding of professional ethics and boundaries in the human service field
-Above average problem solving skills, conflict resolution abilities and above all, a sense of humor!
Wage: $11.50/hour DOE. 401(k) dollar for dollar match up to 5% after one year with vesting schedule, employee recognition and other incentives are available.
Hours: 24-28 hours/week; M-F Afternoons (12 – 4:30pm, 5 pm on Mondays and 2nd Tues. of each month)
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- This is a non-smoking worksite.
- Must have a flu shot before hire and COVID-19 vaccination when available.
- Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug test.
- If in recovery, must have at least two years of sobriety.
- Must have own personal reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
House of Hope is a non-profit organization providing addiction recovery and behavioral health services to help women rebuild their lives and strengthen their families at seven facilities in SLC and Provo.
