House of Hope Announces: The Nesting Place
January 1st, 2020
House of Hope is delighted to announce the launch of the Nesting Place campaign! Set to open in early 2021, the Nesting Place will be an extension of House of Hope services to provide expecting mothers and mothers with newborns the opportunity to stabilize their families. Through specialized pre-natal and post-natal care, mothers in recovery will be empowered to provide a healthy and nurturing environment for their infants for the strongest possible start in life.
According to the Deseret News article, “Opioids Leading Cause of Death of New Utah Moms,” most pregnancy-associated deaths “take place within one year from the end of pregnancy”—the majority of these deaths occurring in the late postpartum period, specifically. Perhaps not so shockingly, the leading cause of these pregnancy-associated deaths in Utah is opioid abuse (Bojórquez, June 1, 2019). These statistics illustrate the dire need of specialized programming like the Nesting Place.
Within the next nine months, House of Hope will raise $1,000,000.00 to purchase a building and help with startup costs. We need your help to make our goal. Any financial contribution helps and there are other ways to help, too! Please follow us on Instagram and Facebook by searching for @HouseofHopeUT. From there, you can engage with and share our posts. Together, we will be able to expand treatment for women and children throughout Utah!
